In 2016 we acquired two J24 sailboats from members of our community. The boats have been donated to Charleston Community Sailing and we are excited to offer a variety of programming in 2017 including US Sailing’s First Sail. J24’s are stable, non capsizable boats sailed with an instructor on board in which all sailors will work together to steer the boat and trim the sails. If you are interested in helping with this program please contact us.
Are you ready to give sailing a try but not sure not if you’re ready to commit to a full class? Then come down for your FIRST SAIL on our J24s. This is a national initiative to engage more people into the sport of sailing. The fixed keel on our J24s will keep the boat stable and comfortable but still provides for an exciting ride on the scenic Charleston Harbor. We have sessions to accommodate your busy schedule so you can register to sail on the weekends or enjoy a sunset sail during the weekdays. In these 3 hour sessions, your nationally certified instructor will get you feeling comfortable on your sea legs Minimum of 3 participants per class.

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, we are constantly evaluating options for our programs. We understand our programs provide great experiences and memories for our participants, and much needed child-care for their families. Ultimately, our decisions to operate, delay, modify or cancel programs will be based on guidance from the CDC and other government health officials, as well as our commitment to ensuring we can provide a high quality, safe experience for our participants.
