Extended Summer Classes

Did you hear that Summer is extended for a few weeks? Given the delay of school starting we will offer several weeks of youth programming. Spots are limited and first come, first serve. Register NOW!
Guppy: An introductory class to get young sailors comfortable around the water. Kids will learn how to put lifejackets on and off. General water safety rules, swimming (w/PFD), Knot Tying, Marine Education, Tour City Marina to check out Big Boats, Knowledge of wind direction, Knowledge of Boat Parts, Sailing in Basin @ Facility or River, Arts & Crafts & Games (ALL sailing related). Participants are NOT required to do the swim check. (Ages 5-7)
Beginner: General water safety rules, Equipment maintenance, Capsize drill, Knowledge of wind direction, Sailing Position, Knot tying (eight, square, bowline), Knowledge of boat parts, Rigging, De-rigging, Reaching, Safety position, Tacking, Jibing, Docklanding, Basic sail trim, Upwind/Downwind Sail Trim, Points of Sail, Hiking Tiller, Knowledge of currents, Getting out of Irons, Basic Understanding of Starting, Basic Rules (starboard-port, windward-leeward). (Ages 8-17)
